VSL#3

VSL#3® is a highly concentrated multi-strain probiotic blend containing live freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria from 8 different strains. Every sachet contains 450 billion CFU live beneficial bacteria.

This product does NOT contain soy, gluten, lactose or milk products.

VSL#3® can be mixed with any cold, non carbonated beverage and be mixed into any cold food such as yogurt, ice cream, or applesauce, and then consumed.

The recommended serve is 1-2 sachet per day for persons over 18 years.

Store in a refrigerator at 2-8°C. Can be stored at room temperature (up to 25 °C) for up to 7 days without adversely affecting potency.

A 2019 study* examined the bacterial profile of VSL#3® to confirm its diversity. Single-cell analysis was used to evaluate the cell viability, and β-galactosidase and urease activity have been used as markers to monitor the reproducibility of the production process.
Key findings:

• Over 1600 protein groups were identified belonging to all strains present in the VSL#3® formulation
• Bacteria found in VSL#3® were able to tolerate the acidic conditions for twice as long as most other products tested

Nearly all of the bacteria found in VSL#3® were still alive after 120 minutes of exposure to stomach acids

VSL#3® contains 8 different strains of good bacteria
While many over-the-counter (OTC) brands contain only 1 strain, scientific studies show that a combination of many different types of good bacteria may give you better results.
 
VSL#3® Powders contain up to 900 billion CFU
Which is significantly higher than what is found in many OTC products. Studies also show that probiotics need to remain alive in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in high enough amounts to have a positive effect.
